Cristiano Ronaldo Sculptor Gets a Second Attempt Ahead of UCL Final

Cristiano Ronaldo Sculptor Gets a Second Attempt Ahead of UCL Final
01.06.2017 • by Danny H

Just over 2 months ago, it seemed as though the entire world was poking fun at Cristiano Ronaldo. With no own goals, red cards, or anything else embarrassing to his name, it had to be something off the pitch which had made the Portuguese phenomenon a laughing stock. We’re sure you remember what tickled everyone at the official renaming of Madeira airport, Ronaldo’s birthplace, but it never hurts to have a second glance.

With the sculptor taking his fair share of criticism for the work, with plenty of stories questioning his actual qualifications in the art of bust making, the Irish arm of Paddy Power – Betfair gave him a chance to redeem himself before the UEFA Champions League final on Saturday. What would the result be this time around…?

Gareth Bale Given the Ronaldo Treatment!

Working alongside Ready10, Paddy Power managed to track down Emanuel Santos so he could have a go at recreating Gareth Bale – one of Cristiano’s Real Madrid teammates. Aside from being British, the selection of Welshman Bale ties in nicely with the biggest club football match of the season being held in Cardiff.

We, and most of the internet (despite Paddy Power’s initial assessment), think that Santos’ follow-up is a much better attempt than his maiden effort, something that is almost certain to cause Ronaldo displeasure.

What Else Have Paddy Power – Betfair Been Up to Lately?

This stunt is right up Paddy Power’s street, perhaps as a nice way to unwind after a few weeks of seriousness. That’s because the UK general election 2017 odds have been fluctuating back and forth recently, despite the seemingly unassailable lead the Conservatives had when Theresa May called for the snap election in April.

Nobody, including ourselves at Gambling Metropolis, gave Jeremy Corbyn of the Labour Party a hope of becoming the next UK Prime Minister, but the Islington North MP from the red side of politics has rallied in recent times to make it interesting. After Leicester City, Brexit and Trump in that order, could we be adding Jezza to that list of upsets?

We’ll keep you all updated about the UK general election betting as we get closer to the 8th June vote!
